What to Expect on the Hike
You begin while it is still dark outside. Your guide carries a torch and knows the path well, so the lack of light is never a problem. The quiet at this hour is part of what makes the hike special.
Around halfway up, the trail runs alongside sections of old stone wall built to protect the fort. Your guide points out which parts are original and shares a bit of the fort’s history along the way.
As you climb, the sky shifts from black to deep blue to gold. Most guests stop here for photos, since the changing light over the hills is one of the best moments of the whole hike.
At the top, Jaipur spreads out below in the early light. Pink buildings, narrow streets, and distant forts are all visible from here. Your guide serves tea while you take it in.
The walk down is easier and much faster, now in full daylight. You will reach the base with plenty of morning left for breakfast or your next activity.
